Persistence of Vision Book Launch on 13th December 2007 at Innocentre, Hong Kong.

The book fest was held in the mid of Nov at Victoria Park. It still feels like summer! Reading on the lawn is really a good idea!

GreeNose ZaZaki joined two authors from IPHK at the Hall 1 Presentation Booth to talk about his new book, Papa’s Forest Bus. Must admit that there were more people there than expected, which was great! He got two questions as well and in the end, one of the audience members went up to the MCCM booth to get a book and his signature.

today’s the last day so rush on over there before 4pm and catch us and our neighbors, IPHK!
It’s only been the first 3 days out of 7 and we’re doing pretty well. Although our booth isn’t strategically placed, we get traffic. We’re right next door to IPHK so that’s nice! If you’re at the Book Fair, please stop by booth GHG05 (right outside the Grand Hall) and say ‘hello’ and possibly purchase some books. See you~

The Black Book of Falling - a comic book exhibition by Peter Suart
This is Tik and Tok’s first adventure in strip cartoon format. On page one they find their way out of a black hole into a bewildering world where they fall from one predicament into another, meeting a cast of strange people and encountering perennial human problems ??? Where are we going? How should we live? How does violence arise? What does it all mean?
Suart has looked at many of the cartoon greats’ Tintin, Asterix, Calvin and Hobbes, the Moomins and Little Nemo in Slumberland’ and has used many of the standard devices of the language of cartooning: the speech and think bubble, the materialised noise, the half-face close-up, the fisheye lens view, the silhouette, multiple perspectives, the nimbus round the head to signify presence or surprise.
The exhibition comprises fifty-eight black and white pages of dip pen and Indian ink drawings.

The Illustrator and the Cartoonist - Talk by Peter Suart
Illustration and Strip Cartooning are distinct but related practices. Both are considered, spuriously, poor relations of Art. He will also look at his own Tik and Tok strip cartoon adventure The Black Book of Falling.
Date: 25/3 (Sun)
Time: 3pm-4:30pm
Venue: Agnes b. CINEMA
